Physical Geography
Natural Landscape
There are four land forms in Quebec; the Canadian Shield, Hudson Bay Lowlands, Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Lowland, and the Appalachians, Saguenay being a part of the Canadian Shield. Saguenay's ecozone would be under the category of the Boreal Shield. This ecozone contains many large forests, as well as rivers. Saguenay is near Lac St-Jean, the Saguenay River, and the St-Lawrence River. This region is good for building a city because of it's forestry, animals, flatland, cool temperature. Due to the city being surrounded my multiple bodies of water, each season's weather will be controlled. The Saguenay River has helped the city grow in the trading industry over time because it leads into the St-Lawrence River, creating a better importing and exporting route. |
Climate
The temperature in Saguenay ranges from -2.2°C to -7.7°C. The average is 2.8°C. In July, the temperature can rise up to 23.2°C. The climate in Saguenay is maritime due to the city being by Lac St-Jean and the Saguenay river. A severe weather condition that could affect the city is flooding. My climate change predictions for this city is that summer's will progressively get cooler. |
